What is metal coating?

Posted on 2017-10-17 The metal coating is a ground metal suspended in a non-toxic aqueous acrylic adhesive. They can be applied to metal and non-metallic surfaces such as glass, wood, ceramics, concrete, foam and resin. All Dye-Oxide Patinas, Universal Patinas, Vista Patinas, Solvent Dyes, Patina Stains and Finishing Waxes are well suited for use with metal coatings, making it possible. In the traditional Patinas, the liver of the sulfur (brown) and Tiffany (green) skin works best with the metal coating. Metallic coatings are very durable on the outside (10 to 15 years) without risk. A gallon of metal coating will cover 100 square feet (including the recommended two layers). There are two different formulations of metal coatings – B and C. Tanning agents can be used, either wet or dry. Once dry, you can polish with a steel velvet in order to highlight or adjust the copper green. In addition, after polishing may add more copper green. Type C contains more metal than type B and is dry enough to be polished with a polishing wheel. Type C with catalyst and curing agent. When a metal coating is applied to ferrous metals (iron, steel and aluminum), primers must be used to protect the underlying metal.
